“This year’s annual meeting promises to be something different for our state.”
That quote is from the lead article in The Digest two years ago. We announced a different date, location, and schedule for our State Association. Our purpose was to make the meeting an event for the whole family. At the conclusion of the 2019 convention, attendees responded with positive comments. It was a resounding success!
We began planning for the 2020 meeting with anticipation. Plans, however, did not factor in a COVID-19 pandemic. The result was canceling the convention and calling on the State Executive Committee to carry out the business for the association. Hoping we could return to our original plan this year, we started getting things in place. With that said, we are thankful and blessed to announce that we will be able to join together in this new season for the State Convention once again.
The ongoing public health challenges will certainly affect how we do things, but nonetheless we will be able to gather not just in spirit, but in person too! For the protection of all involved, the guidelines issued by the Governor and the State Health Department will impact how meeting rooms are staged. Social distancing and face coverings in public areas will be observed. Hand sanitation stations will be readily available. It may not be what we consider normal, but it will allow us to be together in person as we worship and fellowship!
We are excited to return once again for the ALFWB State Convention, and we look forward to seeing you there!
